Wandsworth Exchange is a new development in one of London’s most desirable up-and-coming boroughs. Combining new apartments with retail and outdoor spaces, the development by L&Q needed an identity and marketing brochure.
During the research stages, we discovered Wandsworth’s history in textiles, silk weaving, calico printing and dyeing. In the mid 17th century Wandsworth gave refuge to French Huguenot craftsmen, where the River Wandle helped to power the industry.
The identity takes inspiration from Wandsworth’s heritage, with a building naming system taking inspiration from types of fabric, an abstract pattern weaving through the brochure and a bold calico and black colour palette. The identity is continuing to be rolled out to adverts, on-site hoarding and development website.
