Wandsworth Exchange, a new development of apartments, retail and outdoor spaces by L&Q, needed an identity and marketing brochure to launch the scheme.
During the research stage, we discovered that in the mid 17th century French Huguenots found refuge in Wandsworth. Many were crafts-people, working in textiles, silk weaving, calico printing and dyeing, settling by the River Wandle to help power the industry.
The identity takes inspiration from Wandsworth’s heritage. Apartment blocks are named after types of fabric and an abstract pattern inspired by thread weaves through the brochure. The colour palette is based on calico fabric with a contrast of charcoal, to create a contemporary identity that has been rolled out onto on-site hoarding, marketing materials and website.
